Wild Animals: Weasel

White Weasel

If you think you have to go on safari to see some cool wild animals, then think again! We’ve tracked down some fascinating wild animals - and they can all be found living in the UK!

Weasel
Weasels are Britain's smallest meat-eating mammal. They have long, slim bodies and grow to about 20cm long, with brown fur which gets lighter on their bellies. They eat rodents, like mice and voles, as well as birds and even birds eggs if they can find them. Weasels live anywhere they can find food, so they're often found in fields, mountains, woods and sometimes sand dunes. Weasels are solitary, which means they live on their own rather than in packs or pairs. Stoats are very similar to weasels, but they are paler with a black tip at the end of their tail.

Where could I spot one?
Weasels live all across the UK, so get spotting!
