Weird Pets: Snakes

Snake

Do you want a pet but are looking for something different? Hamsters and goldfish are good, but did you know that many weird and wonderful animals can be kept as pets? We take a look at 12 of the most fascinating potential pets we could find. But please remember, any pet is a lot of responsibility so think carefully, do lots of research and talk to your parents before buying any pet.

Snakes
Owning a pet snake is certainly different. They're not cute, they're not furry, but they will definitely give you lots to talk about! Snakes can be a good option if you, or anyone in your family, is allergic to fur. Corn snakes are the most popular pet snake in the UK. You'll need a special tank to keep your snake in, and it will need somewhere to hide, somewhere to climb, some water and some food. Talking of food, you'll have to cope with the fact that most fully grown snakes like a whole mouse for tea, though only once every four to five days. Specialist pet shops will sell frozen dead mice to keep your snake food supplies topped up.
