How to Use Kids Search

Want to find a website about horses? Football? Video games? It's never been easier! Here are some helpful hints to get the results you're looking for.

To find websites on a certain topic, all you need to do is type the topic name (e.g. cats) in the white box:

Then click the Search button or press Enter on your keyboard, and you'll be shown a list of sites about your chosen topic. You can then go to the site of your choice by clicking the title.

Here are some more tips for doing better searches:

• Check your spelling. If you're not sure how to spell a word, try the dictionary.

• Try searching for different words until you get the results you need. For example, instead of horse pictures try horse photos.

• Double quotes mean an exact phrase, so "pop music" will only find sites with those words together, while pop music will find sites with the words pop and music anywhere on the page.

• Try not to use too many words because your search might become too specific. For example, instead of top leaders in the British government, try searching for government leaders or British government.

Happy searching!
